JURONG BIRDPARK -attractions

JURONG BIRD PARK

Jurong Bird Park is a 20.2 hectare open-concept park. It is the largest in the Asia Pacific and the best in the world. Its collection of more than 9,000 birds from 600 species is among the largest in the world. The Park specialises in birds from Southeast Asia.

You can have an experience of the have yourself transported into Africa by visiting the African Wetlands Exhibits. The refreshing ambience allows one to come close to a variety of African birds as they peacefully frolic in the open space, probably the closest they can - in this part of the world.

Some of the species of birds that you can look forward in meeting are:

Another section of the bird park that you must visit is the water aviary. It has the highest man-made waterfall standing at more than 30 metres with the largest walk-in aviary in the world. Its home for some 1,500 free-flying birds from Africa and South America, and provides visitors with a unique opportunity to watch them roost, bathe, feed and even raise their young in their nests.

If you are planning to go in a family, i believe that your children will love the Splash N Slide Station. This is the 1st wet and dry playground in Singapore without the requisite splash pool, hence, it will be safe and hygienic.

admission rate: child (3-12yrs old) $9
adults $18

opening hours: 8.30am to 6pm

how to get there: Take the MRT to Boon Lay Station and transfer to SBS number 194 or 251 at the Boon Lay Bus Interchange.
